BROOKS CO. DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY AND RAYONIER
ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE PLANS FOR NEW CHIP MILL

Quitman, Ga., Dec. 16, 2011 - The Brooks County Development Authority and Rayonier today announced plans to locate a chip mill near Quitman, Ga.  The mill is being constructed to support demand following the conversion of the fiber production line at the company's Jesup Mill to cellulose specialties fiber from absorbent materials.

The new chip mill, which will be located south of Quitman on Johnson Short Road, is expected to have an annual capacity of approximately 200,000 tons and to begin operations in the second quarter of 2013.

"Rayonier truly appreciates the assistance of the Brooks County Development Authority with this project," said Steve Worthington, Director of Southeast Wood Procurement, Rayonier Wood Procurement, LLC.  "With their help, Rayonier is able to bring this facility and 50 full-time positions to the Quitman area."

"We are very excited that Rayonier selected our community as the site for their latest expansion," said Brooks County Development Authority Chairman Buddy Holwell. "Through the support of the City of Quitman and the Brooks County Board of Commissioners we were able to find the perfect location for Rayonier's chip mill and now look forward to a long and successful relationship with this company."
